Black Opry Revue
Saturday, February 10 @ 8:00 PM
$32 ($38 day of show)
Black Opry is a home for Black artists and Black fans of country, blues, folk and Americana music. Country music has been made by and loved by Black people since its conception. For just as long, these contributions have been overlooked and disregarded in the genre by fans and executives. Black Opry wants to change that. You are invited to discover, support and enjoy the Black artists that make magic in this space.
One of the most valuable aspects of country music is its versatility and diversity. The Black Opry Revue showcases the diversity in sound and stories that Black artists offer to country, blues, folk and Americana music.
Sug Daniels is a Delaware-born, Philadelphia based, singer-songwriter, storyteller, and producer who is using the tools around her to capture the emotions of an era. Daniels’ work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. She thoughtfully combines elements of folk, R&B, and soul alternatives to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change.
Grace Givertz is a Boston-based indie folk singer-songwriter. With a large voice packed into a tiny body, Grace pairs her witty and honest lyrics with various instruments to bring a refreshing sound to folk.
