Opera + Kids @ The Colonial Theatre
The King, The Queen and The Bee is a new opera composed for young voices being premiered at The Colonial Theatre by The Colonial Opera Club, based on the folktalke of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. King Solomon is adored by his court and famous for his wisdom. One day during a nap in his garden, he is stung on his most royal nose by a bee, and chaos breaks forth. The King spares the life of the little bee, and in return she comes to his aide to solve a riddle from the Queen of Sheba that the King is unable to answer. Set to the music of Brahms, and only 45 minutes long, this opera is certain to delight all ages.The Colonial Theatre’s Opera Club presents The King, The Queen and The Bee, Saturday, June 21 – 7:30PM; suggested donation: $10.
