Music for Heroes, a one-night-only concert to raise funds for veterans will be presented on stage at Keene’s beloved Colonial Theater on May 20th. A delightful lineup of regional musicians will perform a mixture of popular, light rock and country music classics to inspire toe-tapping fun for all ages. Please join us for this first-of-its kind concert with 100% of proceeds going directly to the heroes that have dedicated their lives to protect the freedom we enjoy. THE PERFORMERS:

  • Tom Rousseau – Talented singer, songwriter Tom Rousseau has been entertaining audiences since he wrote his first song at four years old. By the time he was in high school, he was a front man in the band On Four. After graduation, he and his band mates moved to Atlanta, Georgia immersing themselves fully into the thriving music scene. On Four gigged in the Atlanta area and produced two albums in the early 90s.  A few years later, Tom formed Autumn in Green and produced 1 self-titled album Autumn In Green. In 2008 Tom released his first solo album titled Change.Over the last 20 years, the majority of Tom’s solo performances have been a blend of his original compositions as well as hits from the past and present delivered with heavy doses of humor. His typical sets include hits from The Beatles, Johnny Cash, U2, as well as songs from current artists.Tom lives in Temple, New Hampshire as he continues to work toward successfully accomplishing his dreams of becoming a signed artist.
  •  Bob Rutherford & Friends – Local artist and songwriter Bob Rutherford has made New Hampshire home since 1986, recording his music at the Recording Co-Op in Gilfordbob-rutherford-2 N.H. Currently, Bob can be found performing weekly at the Omni Mount Washington Resort. He is also the creator of an interactive show about the History of American Music that has been performed at 30 independent living, assisted living and special care facilities in the state of New Hampshire. Having completed his 25th season at the Fryeburg Fair in Fryeburg Maine, Rutherford is well known for supplying a wide range of good old-fashioned family entertainment. His gift of personally connecting to audiences makes it easy for music-lovers to experience his stories of life’s pleasures, frustrations and darkest moments together.
    Bob has performed with world-class artists including Chuck Berry, The Coasters, The Drifters, The Capris, The Duprees, Jay and the Americans, Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons, Gloria Gaynor and The Tramps, and is a published songwriter on Columbia Records. For this very special Music for Heroes event, Bob will be joined by NH Senator Kevin Avard (voice), Berklee College of Music graduate Jarrod Taylor (guitar), and Mike Moran (percussion). “I am devoted to assist our veterans who have served our country. They fought to improve our lives and it is my dedication to help to improve theirs”.
  • Judy Blake & DragonFly – Dragonfly covers an eclectic mix of classic and new Rock, Blues, Folk, Country and Bluegrass, with funky grooves, rich vocals and stellar harmonies. dragonfly-image-1With Judy Blake on vocals and percussion, Ken Hamshaw on guitar and vocals, Danny Solomon on bass, and Owen Landis on drums, their love for music shines through every song.Hailing from the Monadnock Region of NH, the group first played together in 2008 and were known as Judy, Ken, & Danny’. In 2011, they formalized the band as ‘Dragonfly’ and continue to delight NH music lovers at fine restaurants, outdoor festivals, indoor concerts, and private gatherings. Singer, songwriter, Judy Blake has been performing many styles with various groups for over 15 years. She is a former lead singer for The Nines, The Kingsnakes, and Halcyon. Ken Hamshaw is a well-known guitar and bass player as well as a singer, who has been performing professionally with numerous groups and for many community events for his entire adult life. Ken is a former member of The Nines and currently a member of Crazy Love, in addition to Dragonfly.  Danny Solomon has a lifetime history with music as a performer and recording artist/producer/engineer. He has been playing piano since he could walk and electric bass for over 15 years. Drummer, Owen Landis is a former member of The Terry Landis Band, among others, and along with playing with Dragonfly on occasion, is a member of Crazy Love.  Both Danny and Owen can be seen and heard with national kirtan artists around the country.Known for a wide variety of music, they cover songs from the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Sting, Rolling Stones, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, Michael Jackson, Darius Rucker, and even Queen. The list goes on and on and they continually add new material. In addition to performing songs as originally recorded, Dragonfly loves to add a fun twist by playing their own arrangements.
  • The Shana Stack Band – Winner of Band of the Year by the New England Music Awards and Country Artist of the Year by the Limelight Magazine, The Shana Stack Band is onessb-flag-promo of the leading entertainers in New England.Winner of the Independent Country Music Association’s Country Band of the Year and Fans Choice Award, winner of the New England Music Award for Country Act of the Year, and World’s Best Indie Band by Wiles Magazine and most recently winner for Band of the Year by the New England Music Awards and winner of Country Artist of the Year by the Limelight Music Awards –  The Shana Stack Band excites their audience with their high energy, high impact show. The Shana Stack Band features multi- national award winning vocalist Shana Stack, and Nashville Songwriters’ Association International member, Ed Leavitt, the male vocalist and songwriter of the group.  Their music can be found on ITunes and they are currently working on their 5 th album of originals.The Shana Stack Band has opened for such mega stars as Reba McEntire, Sugarland, The Band Perry, Rascal Flatts, as well as performing before Travis Tritt on the Main Stage at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway before the Nascar Sprint Cup Race. The band has performed shows at a variety of large venues including Turning Stone Casino in NY, Tupelo Music Hall, Meadowbrook/Bank of NH Pavilion, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Toby Keith’s Bar & Grill and the Big E Fair!  In September 2015 the band opened for the Vocal Group of the Year by the Country Music Association, Little Big Town and later in the month opened for Craig Morgan and Aaron Parker at the Northeast Delta Dental Stadium Main Stage.
