Director of Audience Services 

The successful candidate will oversee front of house management—including box office, in-house ticketing system, concessions and projection (non-technical aspects)—in a fast paced, regional performing arts center that presents professional touring artists, a niche film series, and serves various theatre rental clients.

Essential Job Functions

  • Box Office Management: Provides oversight for all aspects of ticketing for live and film events
  • Front of House Operations: Hiring, training and management of front of house staff (box office, concessions, bar, projection)
  • Concessions and Bar: Oversee all aspects of concessions, including product and supply selection, ordering, inventory and coordination of equipment maintenance
  • Film Program: Manage film programming, including coordination of film selection with Colonial’s Film Broker and scheduling and supervision of projection staff
  • Information Technology:  Provides oversight for all aspects of ticketing & patron database (Theatre Manager), including carrying out scheduled upgrades and serving as on site IT contact

Required Qualifications

Two – three years of box office and/or customer service experience; superior organizational skills; supervisory experience; able and willing to work non-traditional hours in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment; excellent sense of humor.

Preferred Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; previous experience in commercial or non-profit theatre; familiarity with Theatre Manager or other ticketing/fundraising software; understanding of and appreciation for film and the performing arts.
